‘Bloodline’ is a play featuring Algonquin Elder, master storyteller and Ottawa English Poet Laureate, Albert Dumont. Weaving autobiography, poetry and photography, Albert creates a powerful story of one Indigenous person’s spiritual journey and the negative impact of the Indian Act on him and his bloodline. The performance will be introduced by writer and musician Phil Jenkins who played an advisory role in developing this unforgettable piece of theatre.

This moving and important performance is presented with support from Eglise Unie St. Marc and the United Church of Canada. Proceeds will be used to support Algonquin-led community projects and to compensate the performers, artists and technicians who are sharing their gifts.

Lignée de sang avec l’ancien Algonquin Albert Dumont qui est un excellent raconteur d’histoires, poète, qui d’une façon artistique remarquable tisse autobiographie poésie et photographie qui retrace l’histoire le parcours d’une personne indigène face au mal créé par L’acte des Indiens sur lui et sur sa descendance, sa lignée de sang. La séance sera introduite par l’écrivain et musicien PHIL Jenkins qui joue le rôle de conseiller dans le développement de cette pièce de théâtre inoubliable.

Un bus scolaire sera mis à la disposition des résidents de Kisigan Zibi pour venir assister à ce spectacle.
