WHY BECOMING DEMENTIA FRIENDLY IS IMPORTANT

A Dementia Friendly Community/Church is a place where people living with dementia and their care partners are welcomed, included and supported. It is a community that pays attention to the social and physical needs of the person living with dementia.

For all church leaders

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN DURING THE EDUCATION SESSION:

  • What dementia is, including the signs and symptoms
  • How to engage and communicate with someone living with dementia
  • How to support a person living with dementia who is lost or confused
  • Dementia friendly design considerations
