Carleton Memorial United is entering its 75th year as a church community, and one of our celebratory annual events is the Walk for Mission and Service. You and members of your congregation are invited to join us Sunday, September 29 with the walk beginning at 8:30 am (sharp) in our church parking lot, 740 Melfa Crescent. The 60 to 90-minute walk follows the Rideau Canal from Hog’s Back to Carleton University, crosses the Rideau River, and returns to the church via Vincent Massey Park in time for refreshments at the church. And everyone is welcome to stay for the morning service at 10:30.
To raise funds, we encourage members of our congregation to sign sponsor sheets for individual walkers, and we would encourage other churches to do the same with each participating church remitting its respective collection to the M&S Fund.
So, please consider joining us for a beautiful morning walk, meet other United Church members, and help raise funds for M&S. You may contact Jack Wilson at wilsonjohns@rogers.com to indicate if you and members of your congregation will be joining in the event.
