When is the retreat?
Monday November 25th (arrival around 11 am) – Wednesday November 27th (departure at 4 pm.)
Where is the retreat?
Shalom House in Alexandria
Can you tell me more about the retreat?
We will explore the (too) well-known Christmas story playfully to bring its good news alive again. Through creative arts, movement and the connection with our life experiences, we will let the characters in the story speak to us. The facilitator Rev. Angelika Piché has trained in the European holistic method of “Bibliodrama” and will offer this inspiring approach to Bible interpretation at our retreat. All you need to bring is curiosity and comfortable clothing. In addition to the facilitated time, there will be plenty of free time to linger over lunch, journal, or wander the grounds.
Is this an Advent retreat?
The Advent season is a busy time for ministers. Often, we are so busy leading that we don’t have time to experience Advent ourselves. This retreat is intended as a time for that spiritual nourishment and rest. We will not be sharing worship resources and planning Advent. Instead, we will be enjoying the grace of time to live and experience Advent ourselves.
What is the cost?
$275 per person in single accommodation, or $200 in a double room. (If in a double room, you can choose your own room-mate or ask to be assigned a room-mate.) If you would like to attend the retreat but return home for the overnights, the cost is $200. These rates include all meals. (Lunch each day, breakfast on Tuesday and Wednesday, and dinner on Monday and Tuesday.) Once you fill in the registration form, we will contact you to organize payment.
What is the deadline for registration? Are refunds possible?
Registration is open until Friday, November 8th or whenever all the places fill up – whichever comes first. If circumstances change and you need to cancel your reservation, no problem – we can issue refunds for cancellations received on or before Monday, November 11th. After this date, refunds are only possible if we can find another person who would like to fill the spot.
