This survey is for leadership teams and staff in the following United Church Regional Councils: East Central Ontario, Eastern Ontario Outaouais, Nakonha:ka.

Communications

In each of our three regional councils, many staff members and leadership teams have certain questions which they are asked on a regular basis. Some of these questions (Ex. “What is the mileage rate for 2026?”) can be answered quickly on the website. If the answer is easily accessible, it saves time for everyone. Other questions (Ex. “We are not sure we can make payroll this month. What are our options?)” are more complicated. The website can have a role even for these more complicated and nuanced questions, in that it can help folks easily identify which leadership team or staff member to contact. In this survey, we would like to hear some of the FAQs that you encounter in your work. We would like to make it easier for regional council members and other United Church folks to find the information they need. We would appreciate hearing which questions you are frequently asked in your work. We would also appreciate your feedback on the website for your regional council – specifically if there is any information which could be more clearly accessible.

5. When people contact you and ask for assistance, what are the most common challenges or opportunities which they bring to you?

6. Are there specific questions which you are asked on a regular basis? Please share these questions, and a summary of the answers. (Ex. "I am regularly asked how someone can become an LLWL. I share our LLWL handbook and a link to the course with ChurchX, and I encourage the person to reach out to out to our LLWL leadership and/or Pastoral Relations Minister as soon as possible and before starting the course.")

7. Thinking about the questions you have shared above: Imagine that you are fairly unfamiliar with the work of your regional council. Would it be easy to find the answers to the questions shared in question 6? (Ex. Louise recently joined her congregation's church council. She left the meeting for two minutes while the council discussed a member of the congregation who wants to become an LLWL. Louise returns to the meeting to find that the council has graciously nominated her to contact the regional council and ask about the process to become an LLWL. Will it be easy for her to find the LLWL handbook, the link to ChurchX, and the information that the LLWL applicant should reach out to the LLWL Leadership Team and Pastoral Relations Minister? Is the contact information readily available?)

9. Each Leadership Team and Staff Member is supported by many regional council members, both lay members and ministry personnel. Are there any documents or information which make their work easier and which could be easier to access on the regional council website?
